Yorked! - brief update

It seems Dwight Yorke may indeed be headed back to England, to join his erstwhile club colleague Roy Keane at Sunderland. One wonders how Yorke's easygoing on-field demeanour and playboy lifestyle will sit with the legendarily demanding Keane...

From an A-League point of view, the move would be unfortunate; Yorke remains the most marketable face in the competition. From a Sydney FC point of view, there are both positives and negatives; Yorke's quality would be missed, but Terry Butcher's job might become just that little bit easier, in more ways than one.

Comments:
Hmm, I reckon the two old team-mates know each other pretty well. And for all his off-field behavior, Yorke has been nothing but the model pro recently especially in terms of leading his country to the WC (something Keane never managed...)

I'm sure they know each other very well, but the Yorke of today is very different to the Yorke of Man U days. I wonder if Keane might expect too much of him at first.

Seems he's definitely gone, BTW.

...Instead of replacing Yorkey with a marquee from overseas, SFC should nick one of the other A-League teams star players. That will endear us to the rest of the fans ;-)...

Chorus the fans of the other clubs: "IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!"

;-)
